The Faux Fur in the lining of your hat does not like heavy rain, because heavy rain can change the fibers in the faux fur.  Brush the fur on the faux fur hats with a soft-bristled clothing brush which will maintain the texture of the hat.  Your texture should be smooth.  Make sure your brush with the grain of the fibers or you will have your faux fur fall out.  Don't wash your faux fur in soap and water! When you put your hat away for the season, make sure it is stored in a clean, dry place which keeps the faux fur from becoming discolored.
